About Julie
Julie is the proud owner of Fundamentals Physiotherapy, a multidisciplinary clinic she founded in 2019 with a vision to provide exceptional care while fostering meaningful relationships with patients. What sets Julie apart is her unique perspective as both a practitioner and a patient. Her personal rehabilitation journey has included recovering from a fractured tibia, a rotator cuff tear, SI joint instability, and pelvic health challenges. These experiences have shaped her into a compassionate and empathetic physiotherapist who truly understands the resilience needed for recovery.
After earning her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from the University of New Brunswick in 2004, Julie completed her Master’s in Physiotherapy at Western University in 2007. Over her 18-year career, she has become a highly regarded physiotherapist in the Durham Region, working in private practice and at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. She has also provided sport physiotherapy services for local teams like the Oshawa Vikings Rugby Club and Durham Attack Volleyball Club, demonstrating her commitment to helping athletes achieve their best.
Julie’s expertise spans orthopedics, sports rehabilitation, and pelvic health, with a focus on manual therapy, functional movement, education, and personalized exercise programs. She has pursued extensive post-graduate training in areas like acupuncture, McKenzie techniques, vestibular rehab, concussions, TMJ, and more, continuously expanding her skills to better serve her patients.
A former university athlete, Julie maintains an active lifestyle and is deeply engaged in her community. She has participated in initiatives like 100 Women Who Care Oshawa and fundraising events such as the Ride to Conquer Cancer and the Run for the Cure. Having recently faced a breast cancer diagnosis, Julie is passionate about inspiring others to persevere through life’s challenges.
