About Kyla Mitchell

Kyla is a registered physiotherapist, bringing a strong academic and personal background to her practice. She began her academic journey at Durham College in 2014, graduating with honours in 2016 from the OTA/PTA program. Kyla then continued her studies at Ontario Tech University, earning an Honours Bachelor of Allied Health Science in 2021, where she specialized in healthcare research and management. To further her expertise, she pursued a Master’s Degree in Physiotherapy at Keele University in Newcastle-under-Lyme, UK, graduating in 2024.

Kyla’s passion for physiotherapy stems from her own experience with sports injuries. Having played competitive hockey for over 20 years with teams like the Whitby Wolves and Durham West Lightning, and continuing to play recreationally at Canlan Ice Sports, Kyla developed a deep interest in physiotherapy after injuring her knees on the ice. This personal experience fueled her determination to become a physiotherapist.

Known for her bubbly personality and creative approach, Kyla is dedicated to enhancing her rehabilitative knowledge and skills to provide quality, patient-centered care. By combining manual therapy, education, and personalized exercise plans, she offers a comprehensive approach to rehabilitation that not only improves function and restores mobility but also enhances overall strength. Kyla takes pride in empowering her patients through clear, informative guidance, helping them manage their conditions and prevent future injuries. She is passionate about creating individualized exercise programs that build strength, flexibility, and endurance, ensuring long-lasting recovery and an improved quality of life for every patients.
